The French Film Festival every year provides
a glittering, stimulating and, at times, challenging array of
titles at leading cinemas throughout the country.
Cities covered include London, Birmingham, Manchester, Warwick,
Cardiff, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Aberdeen, Dundee and Dublin.
The French Film Festival began in 1991 in a modest way in two
Scottish cities, and gradually has grown to become encompass
England, Wales and Ireland. The festival presents a
wide spectrum of French-language cinema from major
hits to cutting edge new directors and retrospectives.
Organised by The French Film Festival Ltd, the event’s loyal
partners have included Institut français du Royaume-Uni,
Alliance française, Scottish Screen and Unifrance with the support
of such companies as Total, Blason de Bourgogne, Sofitel, Air
France, SkyArts, TV5, and many others.
Film-makers and actors from the French film industry accompany
many of the screenings and a growing education programme sees
thousands of students, pupils and teachers in attendance.
